Let's be real… Dating in Miami is hard. Now we can't control who you're taking out but we CAN help you choose where to go. We can definitely make the experience go above expectations because NOTHING feels better than when you come home from a perfect date. So, The Beach Channel did some research and went dating! We went to a few places around town people were calling “the best”.
1. Lagniappe, Midtown
There are few places like Lagniappe in Miami. It's like stepping into some New Orleans secret garden. This funky wine bar has all the things you are looking for when wanting a perfect wine night with your significant other. The live music inside creates an amazing soundtrack to make the mood just perfect. Then outside you can enjoy wine and cheese platters in a unique fun environment with their perfectly mismatched furniture everywhere. This is more a charcuterie spot so don't come if you're looking for a five course meal. Do come if your looking for great wine, cheese, and vibes.
2. Rusty Pelican, Key Biscayne
The Rusty Pelican is one the OG locals will always remember. This place is perfect if you want a fantastic view and great ambiance. You will definitely feel the romantic vibe here. Whether you are coming for drinks, food, or both you will have a guaranteed romantic evening with beautiful views of the water and downtown area. This is a fancier spot (which also means pricier) so look nice and make sure you have your wallet.
3. Red Fish by Chef Adrianne, Matheson Hammock Park
Red Fish is a little further south from all the action but definitely one of our top spots this week. You arrive and are instantly surrounded by ocean. The food, drinks, and ambiance exceed expectations. Anything with associations to Chef Adrianne we can automatically put a check mark by. If she's involved we know the food and drinks are going to be excellent. We suggest talking a late afternoon stroll through the beautiful Matheson Hammock Park, build up an appetite, then hit Red Fish.
4. La Locanda, Miami Beach
La Locanda is the perfect Italian date. Its located right in South Beach so you know it’s a great place for people watching—always a fun date night activity. La Locanda is known for its authentic Italian food and picturesque Italian atmosphere. The owners are straight from Italy so they know what they're doing. Whether you are sharing a pizza or going for one of their unique pasta dishes you can expect to eat good and leave full and happy.
5. Mandolin, Design District
The Design District is seeing more and more restaurants pop up. But Mandolin has been around for a little while now and is a favorite in the area. When you step through the entrance you are immediately transported to the Greek islands. The outdoor indoor concept is perfect for south Florida and they've decorated the joint to be tasteful yet enchanting. The only thing better than the ambiance is the food. The Greek and Turkish dishes they're turning out are authentic and delicious. We suggest the Greek Sampler to get you started on your perfect date.
