Deciding where to go to eat and what to do is never easy… No one wants to be disappointed with their choice or have family and friends with the complaint that YOU PICKED this or had a bad experience! Yelp, Utter, and Google Reviews have eased this process, but The Hot list wanted to highlight local favorites and give the Beach Channel input on our latest 5 favorites.
Prohibition Miami: Midtown
Prohibition has some of the best drinks and delicious food. The cocktails they make are strong but smooth which is everything we look for when thinking of our ideal cocktail. When it comes to the food…we personally can't think of their food without our mouths watering. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious-- we had to try it all! Overall Prohibition is an ideal Miami location for dinner whether you are visiting or are a local.
Havana Harry’s: Coral Gables
When people normally think of Miami one of the things that comes to mind is Cuban food. Havana Harry’s is probably the closest thing you will get to having a legit Abuela cook for you. Whether you are eating in or taking out, you're going to get some of the best Cuban food that Miami has to offer. Practically everything on the menu will send you into a Cuban coma of goodness. We definitely order from them once or twice a week!
Drunken Dragon: South Beach
Drunken Dragon shocked us. The outside looks like you're walking outside a strip mall, then one step inside and you are smacked with a great ambiance and vibe. The food and drinks are on another level here and the staff was so accommodating when we were confused on what to order. By the way, the answer to that is everything. They also have the option to sit at normal tables or if you want to work a little bit, you can sit at the communal tables and cook your food. Drunken Dragon is a hidden gem in South Beach.
LoKal: Coconut Grove
Lokal is a local fan favorite. Everyone in town talks about their burgers, fried pickles, and large beer selection. We are pretty sure the majority of their customers are locals wanting to satisfy their cravings with a fabulous and unique burger. And it gets even better! Within the restaurant there is a “time machine” booth which takes you to the ice cream shop next door, Miss Vicky’s. Very cool experience overall and will definitely be coming back to LoKal for all our burger needs.
Baby Jane: Brickell
This restaurant is the ideal place if you are wanting Asian Fusion. When walking in you are overcome with a beautiful bar and some neon signs that are definitely instagram worthy. Their drinks are made by bartenders who KNOW what they're doing. Everything we ate was delectable, but The Tuna Poke Tacos instantly had our hearts. This place checks all the boxes and we're already planning after work drinks and dinner here again.
