Just Keep Swimming and Styling
Fashion is all about trends. And swimwear is no exception. We learned the latest in the bikini business from the top models and designers of 2019 at Swim Week. We chatted with Olivia Brower, Kate Bock, Halima Aden, and Camille Kostek to make sure we bring insider secrets to our Beach Channel fam!
High Waisted Nation
Low rise is out. Suits for this season are high waisted, which flatter many different body shapes by hiding your belly. And one of the amazing aspects of this Swim Week was the “Shattering Perceptions” theme which actually showcased different body shapes. So not only did you get to see the latest trends, you got to them on an array of body types.
Vibrant Colors Galore
No one is in the mood for nude- this season. Vibrant colors are dominating the swim space these days. So go bold or go home. Models strutted down the runway in neons, pastels, rainbow delights. The W Hotel was the perfect neutral runway to let these colors shine.
Throw back to the 80’s
Blame it on repeating fashion cycles, or blame it on Stranger Things but the 80s are back. We’re talking early BayWatch high cut suits to lengthen your legs and unleash your inner glamorous life guard. These suits do a lot to slim your silhouette as a whole. These are one-pieces but you won’t forfeit any sex appeal. With plunging necklines and legs galore you’ll be showing off plenty of skin. But Be wary of wedgies.
Don’t want to take our word for it? Here it is directly from the model’s mouth.
